The Dave Paris Group: Guitar Rock

The Dave Paris Group is a guitar-fueled modern rock and blues band that performs mostly instrumental songs, with occasional vocal pieces featuring bassist/vocalist Barbe Paris. Since September 2006, the Dave Paris Group has been carving a niche for their musician-oriented compositions. As they combine their technical precision and jam band approach with socially and Biblically-influenced tunes, audiences have been inspired, impressed, and entertained with the group’s melody and versatility.

The Dave Paris Group is:

  • Dave Paris: Electric and Acoustic guitars, backup and lead vocals
  • Barbe Paris: Bass guitar, lead and backup vocals
  • Robert Yoder: Drums

Barbe Paris Barbe Paris has been a staple of Dave’s music, performing along side him in many musical situations, most notably having fronted acts like Holy Countdown and Dark Spectacle. Most known for her opera trained screaming soprano voice, she has established herself as quite the multi-instrumentalist, playing everything from guitar, bass, keyboards, drums/percussion, and flute. Currently she is holding down the low-end on bass guitar, stepping up to the microphone on occasion with her Evanescence meets Sheryl Crow vocals. Robert Yoder

Drummer Robert Yoder has been a significant part of the Dave and Barbe Paris music machine in the past. He was with them during the end of their band Holy Countdown, and the beginning of their group Dark Spectacle, having performed on the band’s “Thoughts on Life” CD. After his departure from Dark Spectacle, he had all but given up drumming, replacing his drum sticks with swords and becoming an accomplished martial artist. However, his love for martial arts and percussion collided as he began to get into Taiko; a Japanese musical style that he not only instructs but builds the drums. After a last minute call to fill-in a show for the Dave Paris Group, the musical chemistry was reunited, and Robert was brought in to the band fulltime. Robert is one of Dave’s closest and oldest friends, and has a true “Servant’s Heart”; he is a solid drummer that is more concerned about the representation of the songs he plays rather than showing off his drumming abilities.

Whether hard rock, melodic blues, driving acoustic, or soprano-lead originals, there are no limits in their style, and a little something for everyone.
