Music video to accompany the modern rock remake of “Fight the Good Fight” April 21st release
Cedar Rapids, IA— March 7 2022 — Guitarist Dave Paris has re-recorded the Triumph classic “Fight the Good Fight” for the new millennium.
Featuring the female vocals of Barbe Paris, this new version serves as a tribute to the band. Paying homage to the elements that made Triumph stand out, the track features multi-layered production and recording techniques, including limitless guitar tracks, and larger-than-life choir vocals, but with drop-tuned modern guitar riffs and a much edgier mix.
Dave had his hand in every element of this endeavor. Recorded and mixed at Dave’s Wall of Sound Productions studio, Dave served as producer and engineer, with the help of his friend Curt Harman, who also mastered the final version. Dave used multiple guitars during the sessions, from six and seven string electrics to a Nashville tuned acoustic borrowed from one of his guitar students. Aside from Barbe’s exceptional vocals, the song features Dave’s backing vocals mingled in with larger-than-life multiple tracks from his friend Bob Colquhoun and his student John Johansen, who Dave recently recorded.
A music video has also been filmed to highlight the intensity of the song. The video features mixed martial arts fighters from Cedar Rapids Boxing intermingled with Dave and Barbe performing in an octagon MMA cage. In collaboration with Jacob Spiekermeier and Oak Park Media, Dave directed the video, and shot and edited the fight footage.
It’s no coincidence the song and music video drops April 21st, 2022, this is the anniversary of Triumph’s “Allied Forces” album being certified platinum in 2003. Dave’s version will be available for download and streaming everywhere you get your music. The music video will be released at 12pm Central US on Dave’s YouTube channel.
